Saab company has presented the first official photo of a new 9-5 (universal). The world premiere of this car takes place in March of current year on Geneva Motor Show, thus for sales in the European car market the car will arrives to September.

The volume of a luggage compartment of Saab 9-5 at the hoisted seats of the second row makes 527 litres, and at combined (backs of rear armchairs can be combined in a proportion 60/40) the useful space increases to 1,600 litres. Thus in the latter case is formed the equal loading platform in length of 1,962 mm.
Universal Saab 9-5 will be offered with the same engines, as a sedan. In Europe such car can be ordered with one of three gasoline engines (volume 1,6, 2,0 and 2,8 litres, developing from 160 to 300HP) or with diesel engines, and also the units, capable to work on bioethanol E85.
Let's notice that now Saab exhausts only a sedan 9-5 and a crossover 9-4X. However among the future novelties of the Swedish brand there is also a new Saab 9-3, and compact model 9-2.
Besides it, earlier between Saab and BMW the agreement on use of motors of the Bavarian manufacturer on Saab models has been signed. According to some information, it is a question about turbo engines in volume of 1,6 litres. Such units, predictably, receives Saab 9-3 of following generation and some versions of 9-5.
