Company Ford plans to present updated family Mondeo (sedan, hatchback, universal) in the end of 2010. Espionage photos of a prototype of the future novelty have been published by Dutch edition Autoweek.

Predictably, Mondeo will receive only minor alterations in appearance: a new forward bumper with the big trapezoid air inlet, the modernised lattice of the radiator, new headlights with light-emitting diode section and modifed back lanterns.

The main change in a technical stuffing restyling the car — occurrence of a new 2-l turbo-engine of series EcoBoost which will replace with itself the 2,5-l five-cylinder engine. The 2-l engine will develop 203HP and 300Nm of the twisting moment and begins to be completed with the robotised transmission with two couplings (PowerShift).

Besides, in a ruler of 2-l diesel motors replenishment at the expense of 163-strong updating (it will be accessible only in Europe) is expected.

New Ford by the US design studio

As it was informed earlier, completely new generation Ford Mondeo will appear in the market not earlier than 2014. New Mondeo it is planned to construct on the same platform, as the present car, however at new Ford Mondeo the sizes of wheel base and length of a body, and also a track of forward and back wheels will change.
